Annual Halloween Trunk or Treat

The Monroe Ward Annual Trunk or Treat will be held on the church parking lot on Wednesday, October 30.  The Activities will begin at 5:30.
This year the Primary will be hosting a Chili cook off so everyone needs to be perfecting their recipe (or purchasing a couple cans) LOL.  We would love for everyone to invite some friends to join us for a little fun.

We will be serving grilled hotdogs so no one will go away hungry.

Please feel free to decorate your trunk and be ready to get all of the lovely children all sugared up!  The children (young & old) all love to see all of the trunks decorated, it really adds to the excitement. The trick or treating will begin at 5:30 so please have your trunks ready for all of the little trick or treators.

Daily Inspiration

I just love reading from these talks a little at a time.

"Have some of life’s experiences taken from you the believing heart and childlike faith you once had? If so, look around at the children in your life. And then look again. They may be children in your family, across the street, or in the Primary in your ward. If we have a heart to learn and a willingness to follow the example of children, their divine attributes can hold a key to unlocking our own spiritual growth."
—Jean A. Stevens, "Become as a Little Child"

"The scriptures describe a number of Christlike attributes we need to develop during the course of our lives. They include knowledge and humility, charity and love, obedience and diligence, faith and hope. These personal character qualities stand independent of the organizational status of our Church unit, our economic circumstances, our family situation, culture, race, or language."

"There is really no way we can know the heart, the intentions, or the circumstances of someone who might say or do something we find reason to criticize. Thus the commandment: 'Judge not.'"
—Thomas S. Monson, "Charity Never Faileth"

May Relief Society Newsletter

Welcome to Relief Society
May 2013

"God loves all His children. That is why He pleads so earnestly with us through His prophets. Just as we want what is best for our loved ones, Heavenly Father wants what is best for us. That is why His instructions are so crucial and sometimes so urgent. That is why He has not abandoned us today but continues to reveal His will to us through His prophets. Our fate and the fate of our world hinge on our hearing and heeding the revealed word of God to His children."

"Kneel down to pray. Step up to serve. Reach out to rescue. Each is a vital page of God's blueprint to make a house a home and a home a heaven."

Welcome to Relief Society April 2013

Welcome to Relief Society
April 2013

"Declaring our testimony of the gospel is good, but being a living example of the restored gospel is better. Wishing to be more faithful to our covenants is good; actually being faithful to sacred covenants—including living a virtuous life, paying our tithes and offerings, keeping the Word of Wisdom, and serving those in need—is much better. Announcing that we will dedicate more time for family prayer, scripture study, and wholesome family activities is good; but actually doing all these things steadily will bring heavenly blessings to our lives."
—Dieter F. Uchtdorf, "Of Regrets and Resolutions", Liahona and Ensign, October 2012

"You may have found that change is hard. But know you can do it. You may wonder why you are not believed when you decide to change from a life of disobedience to one of integrity and compliance to truth. Recognize that it takes time to build a reputation that overcomes the effects of past deliberate decisions to deceive and to take advantage of others--but it is worth it."
—Richard G. Scott, "Healing Your Damaged Life", Ensign and Liahona, November 1992
